Please join MATI for the fourth webinar in our 2015 series Research & Practice in Legal Interpretation and Translation:

Forms of Relief in Immigration Law and the Role of Translation in the Immigration Process
Presented by Olga Shostachuk

All the documents that are filed with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) must be presented in English. Thus, the role translation plays is pivotal, and translating these documents requires an understanding of the process, as well as specific subject matter expertise. This session aims to provide an overview of the immigration proceedings, including interviews, court hearings, and appeals, to explain the removal process and forms of relief from removal, and to discuss document translation and transcription involved in the process. A list of resources in English and Russian will be provided.
